Workshops & Events

At Heartwood Equine Connections sessions are held in a safe non-threatening environment. All exercises are done on the ground. There is no riding in the counselling sessions or the workshops. No experience with horses is required or necessary.

Sessions with the facilitator and horse will enable clients to know themselves better. Awareness is the first step towards change and new possibilities for healing and empowerment are possible.

All sessions take place on the ground. The environment is safe. All sessions are experiential, consisting of various exercises with the horse.

Clients are invited to reconnect with their soul and to reawaken their spirit through the wisdom of the horse.

Workshops for 2024

Heartwood is continuing to support women on their road to the development of confidence, self-worth and safety through boundary-setting skills. We finished 2023 with well-attended workshops and many positive comments. Now in 2024, we have completed workshops in May, June and July and we are looking forward to meeting more women in the next few months. Our August workshop is scheduled with young women from Chippawa First Nation and we will return to invitations to the community for September and October.

For more information please email Lynne at heartwoodeqc@gmail.com.

As with all our workshops, there is no cost to participate but each person who attends is asked to donate. The amount of the donation is their choice. Our workshop focus continues to be assisting women who have experienced abuse to gain self-worth, confidence and boundary-setting skills. Each workshop involves safe activities with horses.

We offer individual sessions and 2-day
